Shelter pictures

The other weekend we went to the animal shelter to get our annual pictures taken. We always use them for our Christmas cards that we send out.  It wasn't too bad.  Both Lucas and Holly didn't want to be there (well, and the husband too) but for the most part they were cooperative. Lucas never looks at the camera though. He's such a brat sometimes.

This one we just got for our immediate family.

This one is our Christmas cards.

Lucas & Holly's Visitor

The rescue stopped by on his way home after he picked up another Doberman yesterday. This girls name is Sasha. She's about a year old. She's a youngin' and accidentally broke her 67 yr. old moms hip. I guess her mom broke it before (not by Sasha though) and realized that she couldn't handle a young dog. All I know is if I was up there in age I wouldn't be getting a pup (at least not a large breed dog), I'd be getting an elderly dog. She's a sweet, sweet girl, and also the first rescue in awhile that hasn't snapped at Lucas because he's pissed them off.

Here's a few pictures of her visit. I think she'll be adopted pretty quickly.

Lucas is on the right, and he thinks he's a little tough guy.

Sasha wanting to play with Holly. At first Holly didn't want to play,
but Sasha got her playing.

She's a real pretty girl and I think she'll be quite large.

This is Uncle Gary, the man who owns the rescue. He's
one to be sitting down with the dogs, than standing up with the people.
I can understand and relate.

Happy Thanksgiving

Went down to my parents for Thanksgiving today. We always eat dinner early, like at noon time. Today went by too fast though. Here's a few pictures from today.

My dad is always the last one to finish eating. Everyone else usually leaves the table and starts cleaning up, but I usually sit there with him. Of course, Lucas and Holly know they will be getting some scraps.

Thanks Grandpa.

Holly got to play a little with the Pug named Bud that lives next door.

Holly wiped out for the day.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving day!

Winding Down the Week

I think from here on, the rest of the year will just fly by. Not that it already hasn't, but it will be faster now with the holidays coming.

This past week I guess little Miss Holly ate something that didn't agree with her. There was a nice pile of poop on my carpet when we got home. Soon I'm ready to just start cutting holes in it and eventually be left with the concrete underneath. There's only carpet in my bedroom as we had the rest of our house tiled many years ago, and silly me still wanted something soft and warm underneath my feet in my room!

Finally got a picture of Holly sitting like a lady. She cracks me up when she sits like this. She'll back up till her little tush finds something to sit on. Sometimes I think she is such a little lady, but then I remember she's really a tomboy underneath. I love my Holly girl!

Found these cute Christmas cards on Etsy last weekend and couldn't resist. Figured I could send them to some dog owner friends.

Tomorrow I plan on having my husband chauffeuring me around to a few places. A friend gave me the heads up that Joann's is having a good sale on the solid fleece fabric so I thought I'd buy some for next years tug rope toys. Then Holly and Lucas need their nails trimmed. Think I might hit Lowe's too while I'm at it. Really torture the husband hehe.

Sunday we are going to the shelter to get our Christmas picture taken with Holly and Lucas. We've gone there the last 2 years. As much as the dogs don't cooperate, I really enjoy getting our pictures done. I know the dogs don't change in appearance from year to year, but it's the memories that do.

Today, unfortunately, I had to be reminded of Monday already! I have to show up for jury duty Monday morning. That should be fun!

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and wherever you are, which most likely isn't here in Florida, enjoy your cold weather for me :)

Darn, It's Almost Monday

Patches enjoying the sun.

Finally finished making the tug rope toys for the shelter, made 63.
I have to stop by Sams this week so I was going to get a tray of
cookies for the employees/volunteers.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Around Town

When I'm driving to and from work, I sometimes see the same people and wonder what their stories are. Here are a few that I see regularly, and some that I've never seen before.

This one I call Rich & Renee. It's actually airbrushed on his tailgate. I wonder if Renee is his dogs name. You never know. Every time I see him in the morning, his dog is always with him. And I do see him quite a lot.

I've seen this trailer quite a few times also. It's always filled to the top with bread. I assume it's going to charity.

I call this man in the wheelchair the boyscout. I used to see him walking all the time and he was always dressed up in a boyscout like outfit, with badges and such on it. I haven't seen him wearing it in quite some time though.

I believe this is a homeless mans car. The car is piled high inside and I've seen him come out of it. He feeds stray cats right there in that area. I assume the property owner lets him stay there as there is a convenience store just to the left of the car. Not the greatest area, so I hope he stays safe. He's been there a long time.

Just sitting at a red light next to this trucker one day. Wonder how he got his license. :)

This came off the turnpike while I was sitting at the red light. Don't see this every day, that's for sure.
