Made It...So Far!

Hey there! Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday! I love saying that, Saturday. It reminds me another day off until work.

Well I had part of my dental procedure done Thursday. I had the periodontal surgery done on my upper jaw. I had my one tooth pulled that will have the implant. They put bone implants in 5 places, including the one getting the implant. He said there was so much bone loss that he is waiting to put the implant in, I think he mumbled a couple months. I am NOT overjoyed about that as I have to wear this annoying 'flipper tooth' for that amount of time. This 'flipper tooth' is a temporary tooth that I have to take in and out. It basically snaps in, by ways of the back of the teeth along with a formation of the roof of my mouth that goes in too, which is the most annoying part. I can't speak right with it in. I can't eat with it in. So right now I have a lisp type speech and I'm basically eating soft foods like noodles, eggs, soup until I go back a week from Monday to get the stitches out. Then I think I can graduate to more normal food but I'll have to take the 'flipper tooth' out to eat when I do. It won't really affect me because we don't really go out to eat. The pain was a throb after it was done, and the next day it wasn't as bad. But I'm very sore when I stretch open my mouth and it still feels kind of numb on the one side he removed the tooth on. That side the gum is still really swollen. I cannot wait to get this over and done with, but it probably won't be complete for at least 6 months I'd say, if not longer. I am happy the tooth is gone. Having that abscess for so long, it was a relief once it was gone.

I saw this collar a Facebook friend posted. She makes them. Now neither of my really wear them, I use harnesses on them, but I still buy them usually the nylon collars with holiday themes on them. I love this collar though. So now I need to start saving money and hopefully in about a month I can order it. It's on her website called Pritty Petz.

Earlier this month I had bought Lily a beautiful new bowl feeding station. I haven't tried to upload pictures yet but here is a link to the Mosaic Pet Feeding Station with pictures of it. I love it. Can't say Lily has noticed a difference though lol!

Husband went down for a nap about an hour ago. His Saturday ritual. I made him take the dogs with him, and thankfully Lily isn't walking around yelling right now.

Well I hope everyone enjoys their weekend! I'm off to catch up on some recorded shows from the past 2 weeks.

On For Thursday

Another week down. Hope everyone had a good week and is enjoying their weekend!

Well I have a set appointment for my dental implant and periodontal surgery this coming Thursday. I'm not too nervous yet but I know I will be. I think I'm more nervous about what I'll have to deal with after the fact. If it was just the implant I think I could handle it much better, but not both. I think I'm going to be quite cranky for awhile. Will let you all know how it goes.

I went down to see my parents yesterday. I figured I'd go because I didn't tell my mom about my dental appointment as she would be asking me 500 times about it and how I'm doing, so that way she wouldn't see my actually mouth until probably Easter. I took them to Sears as my dad wanted to get a new mattress and box spring. I did a little shoe shopping while he looked at mattresses. I found one pair of sandals. I need to find more.

On the way home from my parents I dropped his old mattress off at a rescue who uses them for her elderly Dobermans. Much better support then dog beds, and it did only smell like an old person (lol) with nothing else wrong with it.

Holly wasn't feeling well last weekend so had my hubby take her to the vet. They took x-rays as she wouldn't put her tail up and when you tried, it bothered her. They showed she was full of poop and that she had 3 discs that were close together at her hind end. I know the poop really wasn't causing the problem as she is very consistent with her habits. So we had her on a stool softener for a couple days (just in case) and Rimadyl. Every day her tail has come up a little more. I'd say she's almost make to normal. She finally wags like she always does, but I feel like she's not 100% yet. I have I believe another 4 or 5 more days of meds but I believe she'll be fine. I think she hurt herself as my neighbor had stopped in front of our house with his dog the night before she wasn't feeling well, and this is the dog next door who she hates for some reason. She got herself all worked up while he was there so we put her in the house. But she does run all over, and I believe that's what irritated her back end. Girls.

Well I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday! I'm off to finish my laundry which I didn't accomplish yesterday. Enjoy!

Doctors and More Doctors

Well I hope everyone had a great week! Thankfully Saturday is here! I do love Saturday's!

My Periodontist called yesterday and I didn't answer it so they could leave a message.  When I had talked to them the other day they were trying to get me to come in earlier in the day on Thursday and I didn't want to so I figured they were going to try again. This time they said that the doctor has meetings scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday (all of the sudden) and that I would need to reschedule. They wanted me to come in Tuesday morning. I originally told them a Thursday and Friday are best days for me and the latest appointment in the day as I am the only employee in my company and I have to close my business when I leave. What they don't understand about that I don't know. I have to call them back Monday as they were closed when they called yesterday. If they don't have anything the following Thursday, I already called my dentist and got another recommendation for another specialist that I can go to because the longer I wait to do this the more pissed off I get. And I'm already mad now at this place so I don't know how I'll feel if something else changes. This kind of stuff just irritates me so much.

Yesterday I finally did go for an eye check up and got a new prescription for reading glasses. I knew I needed them but haven't felt like going in. I go to pick up my glasses today. One thing off my list for at least another year. I like that doctor, thank God!

For over a year now I haven't been able to use my shower in our master bath. We had water getting behind our tile (because of the grout coming out) so my husband took out all the tile wayyyy back when. We've been using the spare bath since then which sucks. Finally got tired of it enough so we called a tile guy and the Bath Fitter company. I didn't want tile again as I don't want to deal with the grout again but I wanted to get a price anyway. If we went with the tile guy we could have gotten the bathtub redone too for the same price as the Bath Fitter charges for the shower alone. After thinking about it we decided to go with the Bath Fitter. They'll be coming April 10th and 11th to install the shower. I sure hope I like it. No matter if I got tile or this insert, I know I'll have to get used to it after having the same shower for over 20 years. Wish I could get a new home. That would be much nicer. :)

Off to do a little Walmart and Lowes shopping this morning before picking up my glasses. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!! Enjoy!!

Great Time With Rosie

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  I really need to get back on here more often. For some reason I have yet to attempt to figure out, I still can't post pictures grrrrrr.

Our visit with Rosie went quite well.  Her dad dropped her off 5 days early as he was coming to our area to bring some other dogs so I told him to bring her so he didn't have to make another trip down (he's about 2 hours away).  Lucas was such a good boy with her this time. I think he remembered her from last time and he only growled maybe like twice, and that was because she bumped into him. Holly, well Holly I felt like she was going to pack her bags and leave when Rosie first got here. She remembered that toy thief. It took a few days for Holly but she finally started playing with Rosie. Everyone did absolutely great together! I couldn't have asked for anything better!  The only thing I had a problem with this time is that she did not like any other person whatsoever.  At work or at home whenever someone came in, she growled and she barked consistently. I couldn't tell if she would do anything so I was sure to keep her on her leash or put her in my office behind closed doors (while she still barked). I told her dad about it and he said she is more protective of him lately, but she doesn't even know us I would think to act the same way. I tried a squirt bottle one time and she just about had a shower by the time I was done. Didn't bother her. Not sure what to try next time. Oh, and what I mean by next time is he didn't end up going away this time as he had too many dogs to board and it would have been too costly so he changed his trip to the end of April.  We still watched her for 12 days, for what reason I don't know, but she wasn't a bother at all so I didn't care.  Of course when he did pick her up to take her home, our home was quite quiet and we all missed her. Can't wait for her next visit. If anyone has any suggestions for me to try with her barking and growling with new people, please leave a comment. Was thinking of trying a citronella bark collar but don't want to put in too much money for a weeks visit.

In about 10 days I have to get another dental implant and at the same time they are doing periodontal surgery on my upper jaw. I've had the surgery done on my lower jaw many years ago and it wasn't fun so I am so not happy about having this done. If anything good will come out of it I might lose a few pounds from not being able to eat, haha!

Well I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Sunday! Enjoy it!
