Glad the Week is Done

Well here is yet another week gone. I have to say it's been a rough week and I'm glad it's over with. I had to put my other kitty Lily to sleep on Tuesday. The week before she stopped eating so we went in for a check-up. Just had one a few weeks ago but I didn't have any blood work done because she was doing well, so we did blood work and urinalysis. Ever since her kidney disease diagnosis last year she has been going down hill and I knew it wouldn't be long before she would be gone. Her blood work confirmed she was in kidney failure. I took my poor baby girl in and let her rest at peace. My heart is broken yet once again so soon. I will feel a little better once I get her ashes back.

I had to go back to this wonderful (yes that's sarcasm) periodontist on Thursday because my gum was swollen in an area they worked on. And of course he told me (which he told me before) it was due to another bad tooth I have that is towards the back of my mouth. He, of course, wants me to immediately pull it and get another implant at the same time as my other one. I told him I'm waiting though as I cannot afford another implant along with this monstrosity of a bill I'm already working on. So hopefully it can last at least another year, knock on wood please. It's been bothering me for years so I think I can tough it out. I feel sick thinking about the money that's going into my mouth lately.

Yesterday I had my yearly mammogram. Fingers, toes, paws, whatever you have, crossed please for a normal result. I think if it comes back differently I'm going to start drinking!

The good thing about my two doctor appointments this week is that they were free. Of course the periodontist was just looking at it and calling in a free antibiotic, and my insurance covers the mammogram.

Tomorrow we will be Rosie-sitting again for about 2 weeks. I'm hoping that Lucas is an angel again like he was last time. And I'm also hoping Holly doesn't give me that look again like what are you doing to me, heehee. I'm just thinking how fun this will be with her barking at people at my work when they come into my office again. This time he is bringing a muzzle as he said he tried it on her once because of her barking. Don't know what else to do.

Well off to try and get all my housework and laundry done today so I can kind of relax tomorrow. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

A Stitch and a New Shower

Boy these weeks just seem to fly by sometimes! Hope everyone had a good week!

My gums seem to be healing just fine. I do have a couple sore spots in the very back but it really isn't bothersome. I did find where the incompetent dental assistant left a stitch in the back of my mouth too. Thankfully it was a little loose so I let my hubby get in there with a pair of little scissors and cut it out. Just another reason for me not to go back after all my work is done there.

Thursday we had the Bath Fitters company come out and they installed our shower in our master bathroom. I looks good. It actually looks a little longer but only because we knocked out a wall and cut another wall down. Now we have to wait about 10 days for our glass to come in and them to install it. I don't think I want to use it though because I want it to stay new. I'll be glad when it's all together and working again. Been almost 2 years since I took a shower in our bathroom.

Well someone got a new job in my house and it wasn't me! My hubby, who has more mid-life crisis than I can handle, was starting to get irritated with his job for awhile now. When he does that I know the time will end soon with that job. Except this time (as he did once before) he wanted a career change. He's been doing the same thing since he was about 16 years old except for two "tried out" career changes. He's staying in the same type of business but in a different position which I am hoping he will like only because it is still in the same type of business which is what he wanted to get out of. I can't say that I'm not happy for him because I am, but I think he needed to try something different. I told him it's only temporary and eventually he'll figure out what he's wants to truly do. So with this new job, of course, comes a pay cut. So we'll keep our fingers crossed it won't affect us too much. I told him when we move to Alaska he can open his gun shop he always wanted, lol! Motivation, motivation.

Yesterday this darn tightness in my throat has been really bothering me and now I feel it starting again. I really wish a doctor knew what they could give me to make it stop instead of telling me it's acid reflux and keep me on the same medicine which HAS NOT helped this symptom one bit, which is why I stopped taking that medicine. Four doctors and not one can figure it out.

Well I'm off to try and cut some material today, finish some laundry and maybe watch a little t.v..

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Moving Along

Can't believe it's Sunday already! I remember when I was little, Sunday used to last forever. Now it goes by in the blink of an eye.

Hope everyone had a great week!

Tomorrow I get my stiches out in my mouth! Yay! I might actually be able to start eating some kind of meat besides fish, like chicken. It's been hard not to eat any meet for the last 10 days when one is used to eating it. And it's kind of hard too because I have to eat softer foods, well let's hope not after tomorrow.  My teeth do not seem to hurt, just a tad in one area where it was worse. I'm just wondering how long I'll have to wait to get this darn implant in now. I get very impatient with things like this.

This past week I decided to get two new (well refurbished anyways) computers for work. I had XP and Windows will not be giving updates anymore soon so I figured I'd go to 7. There's another nail biter for me. I have no faith in getting my computers back in working order with my data transferred with my programs. I have 2 programs that I absolutely have to have no problems with or I'm screwed. Long story short, they finally delivered them to install Friday at 3:00 and was there for over 2 hours getting one of my programs to install correctly. When he left it was working, and I am keeping every part of my body crossed that it will be the same tomorrow when I go to use it. Like I said, no faith.

Yesterday I took Lily and Lucas in to the vet. Lucas needed a shot and I wanted to have Lily get a check-up because of her age. Poor little thing is just 5lbs. I'm going to have to start calling her Bob...Bag of bones. She eats what she does and drinks, and she gets around just fine. Still jumps up on the couch and chairs and walks all around so I know she's just fine. I just hate that she's so thin. Nothing I can do at her age. I try to give her everything she used to have a bite of before but now she doesn't want it. She'll be okay.

Doing nothing much today. Finishing laundry. I want to try and cut some material for some dog toys. Need to vacuum but really don't want to.

Well I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday. Don't work too hard. Enjoy the day.

Made It...So Far!

Hey there! Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday! I love saying that, Saturday. It reminds me another day off until work.

Well I had part of my dental procedure done Thursday. I had the periodontal surgery done on my upper jaw. I had my one tooth pulled that will have the implant. They put bone implants in 5 places, including the one getting the implant. He said there was so much bone loss that he is waiting to put the implant in, I think he mumbled a couple months. I am NOT overjoyed about that as I have to wear this annoying 'flipper tooth' for that amount of time. This 'flipper tooth' is a temporary tooth that I have to take in and out. It basically snaps in, by ways of the back of the teeth along with a formation of the roof of my mouth that goes in too, which is the most annoying part. I can't speak right with it in. I can't eat with it in. So right now I have a lisp type speech and I'm basically eating soft foods like noodles, eggs, soup until I go back a week from Monday to get the stitches out. Then I think I can graduate to more normal food but I'll have to take the 'flipper tooth' out to eat when I do. It won't really affect me because we don't really go out to eat. The pain was a throb after it was done, and the next day it wasn't as bad. But I'm very sore when I stretch open my mouth and it still feels kind of numb on the one side he removed the tooth on. That side the gum is still really swollen. I cannot wait to get this over and done with, but it probably won't be complete for at least 6 months I'd say, if not longer. I am happy the tooth is gone. Having that abscess for so long, it was a relief once it was gone.

I saw this collar a Facebook friend posted. She makes them. Now neither of my really wear them, I use harnesses on them, but I still buy them usually the nylon collars with holiday themes on them. I love this collar though. So now I need to start saving money and hopefully in about a month I can order it. It's on her website called Pritty Petz.

Earlier this month I had bought Lily a beautiful new bowl feeding station. I haven't tried to upload pictures yet but here is a link to the Mosaic Pet Feeding Station with pictures of it. I love it. Can't say Lily has noticed a difference though lol!

Husband went down for a nap about an hour ago. His Saturday ritual. I made him take the dogs with him, and thankfully Lily isn't walking around yelling right now.

Well I hope everyone enjoys their weekend! I'm off to catch up on some recorded shows from the past 2 weeks.

On For Thursday

Another week down. Hope everyone had a good week and is enjoying their weekend!

Well I have a set appointment for my dental implant and periodontal surgery this coming Thursday. I'm not too nervous yet but I know I will be. I think I'm more nervous about what I'll have to deal with after the fact. If it was just the implant I think I could handle it much better, but not both. I think I'm going to be quite cranky for awhile. Will let you all know how it goes.

I went down to see my parents yesterday. I figured I'd go because I didn't tell my mom about my dental appointment as she would be asking me 500 times about it and how I'm doing, so that way she wouldn't see my actually mouth until probably Easter. I took them to Sears as my dad wanted to get a new mattress and box spring. I did a little shoe shopping while he looked at mattresses. I found one pair of sandals. I need to find more.

On the way home from my parents I dropped his old mattress off at a rescue who uses them for her elderly Dobermans. Much better support then dog beds, and it did only smell like an old person (lol) with nothing else wrong with it.

Holly wasn't feeling well last weekend so had my hubby take her to the vet. They took x-rays as she wouldn't put her tail up and when you tried, it bothered her. They showed she was full of poop and that she had 3 discs that were close together at her hind end. I know the poop really wasn't causing the problem as she is very consistent with her habits. So we had her on a stool softener for a couple days (just in case) and Rimadyl. Every day her tail has come up a little more. I'd say she's almost make to normal. She finally wags like she always does, but I feel like she's not 100% yet. I have I believe another 4 or 5 more days of meds but I believe she'll be fine. I think she hurt herself as my neighbor had stopped in front of our house with his dog the night before she wasn't feeling well, and this is the dog next door who she hates for some reason. She got herself all worked up while he was there so we put her in the house. But she does run all over, and I believe that's what irritated her back end. Girls.

Well I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday! I'm off to finish my laundry which I didn't accomplish yesterday. Enjoy!

Doctors and More Doctors

Well I hope everyone had a great week! Thankfully Saturday is here! I do love Saturday's!

My Periodontist called yesterday and I didn't answer it so they could leave a message.  When I had talked to them the other day they were trying to get me to come in earlier in the day on Thursday and I didn't want to so I figured they were going to try again. This time they said that the doctor has meetings scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday (all of the sudden) and that I would need to reschedule. They wanted me to come in Tuesday morning. I originally told them a Thursday and Friday are best days for me and the latest appointment in the day as I am the only employee in my company and I have to close my business when I leave. What they don't understand about that I don't know. I have to call them back Monday as they were closed when they called yesterday. If they don't have anything the following Thursday, I already called my dentist and got another recommendation for another specialist that I can go to because the longer I wait to do this the more pissed off I get. And I'm already mad now at this place so I don't know how I'll feel if something else changes. This kind of stuff just irritates me so much.

Yesterday I finally did go for an eye check up and got a new prescription for reading glasses. I knew I needed them but haven't felt like going in. I go to pick up my glasses today. One thing off my list for at least another year. I like that doctor, thank God!

For over a year now I haven't been able to use my shower in our master bath. We had water getting behind our tile (because of the grout coming out) so my husband took out all the tile wayyyy back when. We've been using the spare bath since then which sucks. Finally got tired of it enough so we called a tile guy and the Bath Fitter company. I didn't want tile again as I don't want to deal with the grout again but I wanted to get a price anyway. If we went with the tile guy we could have gotten the bathtub redone too for the same price as the Bath Fitter charges for the shower alone. After thinking about it we decided to go with the Bath Fitter. They'll be coming April 10th and 11th to install the shower. I sure hope I like it. No matter if I got tile or this insert, I know I'll have to get used to it after having the same shower for over 20 years. Wish I could get a new home. That would be much nicer. :)

Off to do a little Walmart and Lowes shopping this morning before picking up my glasses. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!! Enjoy!!

Great Time With Rosie

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  I really need to get back on here more often. For some reason I have yet to attempt to figure out, I still can't post pictures grrrrrr.

Our visit with Rosie went quite well.  Her dad dropped her off 5 days early as he was coming to our area to bring some other dogs so I told him to bring her so he didn't have to make another trip down (he's about 2 hours away).  Lucas was such a good boy with her this time. I think he remembered her from last time and he only growled maybe like twice, and that was because she bumped into him. Holly, well Holly I felt like she was going to pack her bags and leave when Rosie first got here. She remembered that toy thief. It took a few days for Holly but she finally started playing with Rosie. Everyone did absolutely great together! I couldn't have asked for anything better!  The only thing I had a problem with this time is that she did not like any other person whatsoever.  At work or at home whenever someone came in, she growled and she barked consistently. I couldn't tell if she would do anything so I was sure to keep her on her leash or put her in my office behind closed doors (while she still barked). I told her dad about it and he said she is more protective of him lately, but she doesn't even know us I would think to act the same way. I tried a squirt bottle one time and she just about had a shower by the time I was done. Didn't bother her. Not sure what to try next time. Oh, and what I mean by next time is he didn't end up going away this time as he had too many dogs to board and it would have been too costly so he changed his trip to the end of April.  We still watched her for 12 days, for what reason I don't know, but she wasn't a bother at all so I didn't care.  Of course when he did pick her up to take her home, our home was quite quiet and we all missed her. Can't wait for her next visit. If anyone has any suggestions for me to try with her barking and growling with new people, please leave a comment. Was thinking of trying a citronella bark collar but don't want to put in too much money for a weeks visit.

In about 10 days I have to get another dental implant and at the same time they are doing periodontal surgery on my upper jaw. I've had the surgery done on my lower jaw many years ago and it wasn't fun so I am so not happy about having this done. If anything good will come out of it I might lose a few pounds from not being able to eat, haha!

Well I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Sunday! Enjoy it!
