So Many Dogs and Cats, So Little Time

Boy has it been a busy weekend. Saturday morning the rescue guy came by so my husband could put a new alternator in his van. Some things my husband can do, so he does it to save him money. He brought with him Sandy and of course his little Rosie. Before he left we washed both the dogs as they both stunk.
Here's Sandy
 Here's Rosie

I hid Rosie from him before he left so she could have a sleepover as we were going to see Gary the next day at a friends house. Actually, he was more than happy to let her stay. For some reason Holly wasn't in a good mood the rest of the day. Not sure if it was because Sandy annoyed her. The next morning she was playing with Rosie.
Here's Rosie with a ball of course.

On Sunday I woke up way too early and met a friend who feeds a feral cat colony at a mall. I donate food to them and try to collect also, so she wanted me to see what they do. It took 3 hours. It was quite an experience. Some of them broke my heart. Here's a few pics. I didn't take more so I could help her.

Lucas' foster mom and dad invited us over for dinner on Sunday. I didn't realize they were actually 2 hours away. For some reason I thought it was an hour. Ride over wasn't bad, coming home my butt was dragging. I finally got to meet their 3 Dobermans and 1 cat. Seeing pics all the time, it was great to meet them. They were all so very calm, and loving. I just couldn't believe there were 3 Dobermans. I'm kind of embarrassed with my 2 when they come over now, lol.

Here's Rocky. I believe he's about 9 years old. The sweetest boy.

This is Tess. She reminds me so much of my Holly girl. I guess it's the way she looks with her longer snout, and kind of her personality too. She also is an all natural girl like Holly.

This is Juliette. She is such a beautiful girl, and so sweet too.

Here is their cat Oscar. They call him the king as he is the one who decides which Dobermans come into their lives. He's the kitty tester I guess you can say. She said he's about 14 years old. Very sweet guy. He let me hold him for about 2 minutes then he wanted down. As you can see in the picture he is a total momma's boy.

All is quiet right now. The dogs are sleeping and my husband went over to a friends house.
Please remember, today is Memorial Day. A day to remember those who lost their lives to save ours.

Back to Normal

Well last Saturday our little visitor Rosie went home to her daddy.  I'd have to say it's been quite quiet and dull around here this week since she's been gone. At first Holly was sleeping a lot for the first day and a half and I thought she might have been sad or depressed that her new friend was gone, but I believe she was actually catching up on her rest because she's back to her old self now. She's not used to playing from the time her eyes open until they close. Everyone was great together and they all had a lot of fun! Lucas almost pranced up to Rosie to play with her once like he does to Holly when he's perky, but then he realized who it was and stopped. He was such a good boy. I think he might have actually felt left out a little as Holly paid no attention to him like she did, so I think he was happy once Rosie went home. I do have to say we miss Rosie. Here's a few more pics of her visit.
Holly and Rosie playing non-stop
Rosie always with a tennis ball in her mouth.
 Treat time.
 Calm before the storm.

I ordered Holly a new collar a few weeks ago. It's from a Facebook friend who makes them. I usually don't order stuff like this (especially since she wears a harness) but I just loved the flowers and paw prints and the overall color of it. I think it looks great on her.

I actually started cleaning the house early today and vacuumed and washed the floors which I haven't washed in awhile and it really needed it. Still need to do a little bit of dusting in one room. I wanted to get everything done this weekend as I'd like to limit my cleaning next weekend on the 3 days off and maybe enjoy it a little. Might go down to visit my parents on Saturday if I feel like it just to get out of the house for a bit.

Well I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday!

Our Family is Whole

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday afternoon! It's been rainy a little for the last few hours here but that's okay because the yard really needs it.

We picked up Lily's ashes this week. I feel like I can breathe a little easier now that she's back with us, even though I broke down again when I got her. We're whole again. This is my Lily. This was taken the week before we put her to sleep. My poor sweet girl. She's missed very much.

Our friend Miss Rosie is staying with us until next week. Her dad dropped her off Sunday. He came with three other Dobermans.
This is Abby, and Gary.
This is Angel.
This is Trixie.
Angel and Trixie are up for adoption at Dobermann Rescue of Lake Placid if anyone's interested. Both are cat and kid friendly. Angel is heartworm positive and is on the slow kill treatment. She is absolutely the sweetest dog, very relaxed, likes to play but does not overdo it, she plays very well with others and gets along great with other dogs. I'm pretty sure if I didn't have Holly I would be adopting her. There's only three Dobermans that he's ever brought by that have seriously tugged at my heart and she's one of them. Trixie is a great girl too. She loves to play with other dogs and gets along great with them. My Lucas didn't like her at all and kept snarling at her, and all she wanted to keep doing was play. A real sweetheart too.

Here are a few pics of Rosie.
Loves to play/wrestle with Holly.
I was bored at work and was amusing myself, and some Facebook friends.
If Rosie doesn't have a tennis ball in her mouth it's just not Rosie.

These are only a few of the pics I have of her with a tennis ball. Too many to post. :)

She's enjoying herself though, and Lucas and Holly are both doing wonderful with her again. She still is barking and growling at everyone else besides me and my hubby though, except amazingly one friend that stopped by this morning. I had a talk with Rosie this morning and asked her to please be nice to my friend as she was stopping by to take pictures of Rosie for me so I could try and get a nice picture of her so I can give it to her dad for his birthday in August. I was going to get an enlarged copy and frame it. I don't have the extra money to do a photo sitting so she offered to try and take some pics with her nice camera. Amazingly Rosie did not growl or bark at her when she came over. I think it was because she came out last with my husband and she seen Holly and Lucas all excited to have a new person. I was very proud of Rosie for being such a good girl. A few hours later my husbands friend came over and she was back to her growling and barking. But that's okay because I didn't feel like an ass in front of my friend, lol.

Well I'm off to eat dinner soon. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
