Our Family is Whole

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday afternoon! It's been rainy a little for the last few hours here but that's okay because the yard really needs it.

We picked up Lily's ashes this week. I feel like I can breathe a little easier now that she's back with us, even though I broke down again when I got her. We're whole again. This is my Lily. This was taken the week before we put her to sleep. My poor sweet girl. She's missed very much.

Our friend Miss Rosie is staying with us until next week. Her dad dropped her off Sunday. He came with three other Dobermans.
This is Abby, and Gary.
This is Angel.
This is Trixie.
Angel and Trixie are up for adoption at Dobermann Rescue of Lake Placid if anyone's interested. Both are cat and kid friendly. Angel is heartworm positive and is on the slow kill treatment. She is absolutely the sweetest dog, very relaxed, likes to play but does not overdo it, she plays very well with others and gets along great with other dogs. I'm pretty sure if I didn't have Holly I would be adopting her. There's only three Dobermans that he's ever brought by that have seriously tugged at my heart and she's one of them. Trixie is a great girl too. She loves to play with other dogs and gets along great with them. My Lucas didn't like her at all and kept snarling at her, and all she wanted to keep doing was play. A real sweetheart too.

Here are a few pics of Rosie.
Loves to play/wrestle with Holly.
I was bored at work and was amusing myself, and some Facebook friends.
If Rosie doesn't have a tennis ball in her mouth it's just not Rosie.

These are only a few of the pics I have of her with a tennis ball. Too many to post. :)

She's enjoying herself though, and Lucas and Holly are both doing wonderful with her again. She still is barking and growling at everyone else besides me and my hubby though, except amazingly one friend that stopped by this morning. I had a talk with Rosie this morning and asked her to please be nice to my friend as she was stopping by to take pictures of Rosie for me so I could try and get a nice picture of her so I can give it to her dad for his birthday in August. I was going to get an enlarged copy and frame it. I don't have the extra money to do a photo sitting so she offered to try and take some pics with her nice camera. Amazingly Rosie did not growl or bark at her when she came over. I think it was because she came out last with my husband and she seen Holly and Lucas all excited to have a new person. I was very proud of Rosie for being such a good girl. A few hours later my husbands friend came over and she was back to her growling and barking. But that's okay because I didn't feel like an ass in front of my friend, lol.

Well I'm off to eat dinner soon. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

  1. So nice to see photos again! And so many sweet rescue photos. You have some good ones out there. Right now most of the one in our rescue have "issues." Ah Lucas. He is allowed to not tolerate what he doesn't want. We are dog sitting at the same time!

I totally understand the relief when the ashes come back. I am glad she is back home with you. Sam

    1. I changed to Firefox browser, maybe that had something to do with it. I'm glad to be able to post pics again. I don't know why Lucas didn't like her. She did nothing to him that I seen. He's just a grump sometimes, but that's okay. I love your little house guest too!

    2. I agree...Lucas is allowed to have opinions. :) The silent issues between dogs. It is like when we dislike someone on sight or sound...something just rubs us wrong, but social rules rein us in. Not so much with dogs.

She is something else. it is going to be a long several weeks, but I think it is good for everyone.
